January Faves and Wish List

Hey guys! I am going to be sharing some of my favorite products monthly that I’ve been loving and get a lot of use out of! I had a lot of gift cards from Christmas so naturally January has been the month of impulse purchases. None of these are sponsored, this is just a girl professing her love for stuff.

  1. Clif Bars Nut Butter Filled (Chocolate Peanut Butter)
Last night I had a dream that my mom bought me a giant, Costco size case of Clif Bars Nut Butter Filled bars in Chocolate Peanut Butter. You can’t even imagine my devastation upon waking up to find that I don’t actually have a hundred of these laying around. Bottom line: THESE ARE AMAZING. An addictive and tasty snack made by a great company, the chocolate peanut butter flavor is literally everything I could ever ask for in an energy bar. The classic PB and chocolate combo is perfect for staving off my sweet tooth cravings; instead of running to the nearest convenience store to buy Reese’s, I can have these, which are so much more satisfying anyway. The peanut butter is so creamy and delicious. Give me a hundred more please.
  2. Mini looped resistance bands
I got these awhile back but, as this is my first favorites post, I figured that I would include them because I use them so often to work my lower body. Pretty much every time I train my lower body, I pull these bad boys out of my gym bag. I have these ones by Starwood Sports, purchased off of Amazon.
  3. img_9079Kylie Cosmetics
I got my first Kylie lip kit (Dirty Peach) and a matte liquid lipstick single (Koko K) from Kylie Cosmetics and I am loving them. Especially Dirty Peach. The colors are luscious and so pretty. My boyfriend’s review: “That lip stuff makes you look like a doll.” I don’t know if that was a good thing or not but I’ll take it.
  4. Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette
If you read my recent beauty haul post you know I’m obsessing over this. Super pigmented, beautifully textured, mind bogglingly gorgeous shadow colors. I’ve never really used anything but nude shades on my eyes before purchasing this, and I feel screen-shot-2017-01-29-at-6-29-06-pmlike a mad scientist experimenting with all the pretty colors on the daily. The brush that it comes with is not my favorite, but other than that, I am so glad I made this purchase.
  5. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream
This has been saving my catastrophically dry winter skin lately. I’ve never met a moisturizer with more extreme magical moisturizing powers.
  6. PetSafe Easy Walk no-pull dog harness / chewy.com
This is a random one but I cannot emphasize enough how much this invention has saved my life. Or, more accurately, how much it has saved my dog walking arm from being ripped out of its socket. If you have a hyper dog who likes to pull, which my husky Juneau certainly does, I highly recommend the EasyWalk harness. The leash clips in the front which, by some sorcery, keeps my dog from pulling, because it turns her to the side so that she can’t pull forward. img_8780I absolutely love this harness and she has eaten quite a few of them, and I always end up buying the same one over and over because it’s THAT GOOD. Sorry, Juneau, you won’t be chasing any squirrels anytime soon!
I order my doggie supplies through chewy.com and highly recommend this site to any dog owner. They have great deals on treats, food, toys, and literally anything else you could possibly need for your pooch, and you can also save by setting up an autoshipment of essential supplies like food and treats! I have Juneau’s food and marrow bones on autoship so that I don’t have to worry about going to the pet store to restock.
  7. Lululemon Align Pant II in navy
img_9077These are my favorite leggings of all time. They are so soft and really do have a naked feel (oo scandalous). The material is so incomparably, inexplicably comfy, unlike any other leggings I have ever worn or touched, and equally perfect for both working it at the gym (probably not intense cardio? Which I don’t do, but they work fine for me when lifting) and curling up at home watching Netflix. These hold up to the tag’s promise that you’ll feel naked because forreal forreal these are like a second skin. In a totally non-creepy way. My only issue with them is I’ve noticed some pilling, which reviews on Lululemon’s site warn of, but, for me, it’s not enough of an issue to dissuade me from how much I ADORE them.
  8. T.J. Maxx’s Activewear Selection
img_9260Nothing gets me more pumped for the gym than being able to put on a cute but functional and comfortable workout outfit, and I cannot overstate how great T.J. is for finding great and also SUPER CUTE athletic wear at affordable prices. I still can’t believe I got the outfit pictured to the right at T.J. for only $32 — less than I’d pay for just a pair of leggings anywhere else!
  9. Starbucks DoubleShot Coffee & Protein canned drink
I don’t normally drink coffee but these are so great for an energy boost. And with 20g of protein?!
  10. MyPlate App
Wow, something on this list that’s absolutely FREE! I use the MyPlate app to track my food, and it’s super helpful because not only does it show you the breakdown of your macros, but it also sends you notifications and reminds you to track your meals if you’re like me and you’re really negligent about tracking meals. One of my fitness goals for 2017 was to start tracking my macros, and, so far, admittedly, I haven’t been 100% reliable in tracking my food. MyPlate is helpful because it keeps pestering me to track my meals. I love the interface and how easy it is to scan the barcodes of foods and drinks! My biggest goal for February is to be more mindful about what I am eating and to be more diligent about my macro tracking, since it’s something I really want to do.

***Wish List***

  1. Beverly International UMP Protein Powder
Chocolate? Rocky Road? Cookies and Cream? WHAT FLAVOR TO GET IDK?! Too many delicious choices! I’m currently using CytoSport Muscle Milk in chocolate and I like it but I’m almost at the bottom of my jar and want to try something new, since Muscle Milk is the only protein powder I’ve ever used. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Beverly International’s Ultimate Muscle Protein, so I’m hoping to get my hands on some soon!
  2. Wireless headphones
Any affordable recommendations greatly appreciated! I’m currently using a pair of Sony earbuds that I got for roughly $12. I don’t really have any gripes with them, except THE WIRES. Always getting in the way and disrupting my gym flow when they get caught on something and rip out of my ear. So, I’m thinking it’s time to go wireless.
  3. Jump rope
Sad, but true. I don’t own my own jump rope. I know, I’m a monster. I’m awful at jump roping but I’ve been loving it lately to get my heart rate up. Probably time to invest in my own jump rope.
  4. Lululemon Align Pant II
So I have a pair of the Align Pant II in navy and if you follow me on insta or on here or you read how much I love them a couple paragraphs ago, you know they are my favorite leggings of all time.
My first two pairs of Lulu leggings have officially spawned an addiction because now I am dying to get my hands on a second pair of the Align Pant II. And I happen to have a Lululemon gift card leftover but HMMMM what color?
  5. Gymshark’s *new* Flex Leggings
Gymshark’s marketing tactic is definitely to prey on major FOMO because after seeing so many gorgeous fit babes on Instagram wearing their amazing Flex Leggings, I had to cave and snag myself a pair. I’m a bandwagon bitch, I admit it, but these are worth it — they’re amazingly comfortable, perfect for the gym, and stay put better than any of my other leggings. They recently released a batch of pretty new colors and I am currently salivating over the badass black pair.
  6. 90 Degrees by Reflex Power Flex Yoga Pants
If it seems like I have a legging addiction, it’s because I do. I am currently eyeing up these lovely leggings in Heather Guava. These come in a ton of colorful variations to add a pop of color to your gymwear. A pop of color is something I desperately need because everything I own is black, gray, and navy. Oops. I have a couple pairs of leggings by this brand that I’ve picked up at T.J. Maxx and they are amazing for the price. You already know I love a good bargain.
  7. Ankle strap
I desperately need my own ankle strap for leg workouts on the cable machines. Fortunately, my usual gym has an ankle strap. However, I spend a lot of time visiting my boyfriend in North Carolina, and his apartment complex’s fitness center does not have an ankle stscreen-shot-2017-02-06-at-11-48-11-amrap. If anyone has any recommendations for a great/sturdy ankle strap, hit me up grrrrl.
  8. Pizza
As I was writing this I realized that I am hungry for pizza so I have put it on my wishlist in the hopes that my wish will soon come true.
